The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. Two weeks ago we accepted the call to pastor high school students in Beaverton, Oregon and Sunday we will begin the trek out. Although it has definitely helped having “professional” packers, we have still been very busy. This phase of the adventure is bittersweet. For in this moment, we are leaving the home we have lived in for 5 1/2 years and the area we have lived in for 7 years. We have had 3 children here, bought our first house here, made dear friends here and invested our lives. We have experienced the growing pains of marriage and parenting, as well as personal growth. We have had incredible highs and terrible lows. Saying “good-bye” to those we love and to that which we have become accustomed to is not easy. Yet the scary part is realizing the reality of being away from these dear loved ones has not hit yet. Moving 2400 miles away seems overwhelming and yet our hope and strength remains in the One who has brought us this far. It is exciting to start new chapters and to realize God continues to write the pages of our lives. We are excited to see what is ahead. And so to our friends and family that we are moving so far away from, we love you. Please stay in touch!
